Marketing and Project Coordinator

Armed with a diverse range of technical and creative skills, Jody joined SolutionMakers, Inc. in May of 2008 to take the company’s marketing efforts to the next level and help drive the next phase of the company’s evolution.  From a technical standpoint, Jody has a decade of IT experience in both the software and telecom industries.  Experienced as an analyst, graphic designer, developer, project manager, tester, and even technical recruiter, Jody understands the end-to-end process of software development and uses that to his advantage when working with SMI clients to manage their projects.  As a marketer Jody’s experience is a little less involved however it is an area that he has always had a passion for.  “During my time in the IT industry, I always found myself approaching projects with a marketing mindset.  Whether I was questioning the branding and usability of a user interface or considering how certain data sets could be used to support marketing initiatives, I always had the customer and the business’ bottom line in mind,” Jody says.

In 2006, Jody was able to realize an outlet for his marketing ambitions as he opened the upscale Elle Marie Hair Studio with two other family members and took on the role of Marketing Manager which he still continues on the side.  Although Jody owns the marketing efforts specifically at the salon, he is involved with all aspects of business operations save for the actual performing of hair services.  Experiencing business processes as an owner allows Jody to see the big picture and truly relate with and understand the needs of SMi clients.

Jody graduated from Western Washington University in 1995 with a Communications degree that focused on Broadcast Production.  His ability to produce advertising content for radio and television could be added to his diverse range of skills; however his talents are admittedly a little rusty.  “Yes, I’m a jack-of-all-trades, master of none,” Jody jokes.
